Moonlight City
When moonlight rises over desert sand
Its shades the stars with dimming, pale-glow, light
Thus captures sky the mother of the land
Keeps sister’s shining memr’y through the night
As hanging high is often so below
There lies a township should’ring equal weight
For all the stars a blanket like the snow
And daylight thus remains though clocks speak “late”
Nestled between mount and most-famed crag
That neon moonlight city keeps awake
Foot-traffic only grows on the main drag
Built up for those who seek a higher stake
Tis’ artificial moonbeams fend the dark
At days return content, awash with sparks
